DCPS Global Ed

Primary Years Programme (ages 3-12)

The PYP is an interdisciplinary, inquiry-based approach to instruction for students in the early grades.  Shepherd Elementary School, Turner Elementary School and Thomson Elementary School are authorized IB World Schools.

Middle Years Programme (ages 11-16)

Using global contexts, MYP students develop an understanding of their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet through developmentally appropriate explorations.  Deal Middle School and Eliot-Hine Middle School are authorized IB World Schools.  Browne Education Campus is an IB Candidate School seeking Middle Years Programme authorization.

Diploma Programme (ages 16-19)

The IB Diploma is a rigorous and demanding two-year pre-university program that meets the needs of highly motivated students in grades 11 and 12.  Benjamin Banneker High School and Eastern Senior High School are IB World Schools that offer the IB Diploma Programme.
