Global Education Showcase presentations feature students and educators from programs like the Embassy Adoption Program, International Baccalaureate, and Global Studies Schools. They showcase efforts to promote global competence, demonstrating a commitment to preparing students for an increasingly interconnected world.
The Global Education Awards shine a spotlight on outstanding achievements of students and educators in DCPS that have made significant contributions to global learning.
The Global Educator of the Year Award acknowledges exceptional educators who provide high-quality global learning opportunities for students. They encourage students to learn about different cultures, create a diverse classroom, and inspire global competence. The recognition is an opportunity to honor teachers who have made a significant contribution to global education.
The Global Competence Award is a honor that recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in the domains of global competence: Investigating the World, Recognizing Perspectives, Communicating Ideas, and Taking Action. This award is presented to three students each year, one each from elementary, middle, and high school. The nominees for this award are selected by their peers, teachers, and community members, and presented with the award at the annual Global Education Showcase.
